OUR STORY
Fuel Way Station/Fuel Coffee House opened it’s doors in October of 2007, thanks to the generosity of the members of a local church, who liquidated the church’s assets to invest in the community by means of a non-profit, non-denominational coffee house. The concept is something that’s been done world-wide, but it was the first of it’s kind in the Texas Hill Country.

The founders of Fuel had a vision to create a place that brings the community together – churches, youth, locals, travelers, small groups, musicians, writers, whomever needs a place to gather, this was to be the place.
Fuel has become that place.

Over the years, various community volunteers have assumed the position of “running” this place called Fuel. All of whom wish to see this special place continue to thrive and to serve. This little coffee shop on the historic square in downtown Llano, serves more than coffee. It serves the needs of the community through fellowship, the arts, and outreach.

Fuel has become more than just great coffee (some have even mentioned that it is better than a certain, ahem, national chain), we also serve delicious smoothies, iced tea, sodas, and tasty breads and pastries.
music & arts Blues, folk, gospel, rock, country….at least weekly you will find great music bellowing from the fuel coffee house.

And if great music wasn’t enough, you will find the work of talented Hill Country artists gracing the walls of fuel for us all to enjoy.
Fuel wouldn’t be what it is without the community. Never short of friendly conversation, Fuel has become the place to gather – early-morning friends, knitting meet-ups, mom’s groups and business meetings. Each Sunday from 5-6pm, Fuel outreach serves a free meal to the community (sometimes 250+!), no strings attached – really!

As a non-profit organization, Fuel depends on community support to keep our doors open. Whether you just buy a cup of coffee, volunteer your time, or make a tax-deductible donation, we are so grateful for your support. You have made Fuel what it is today.
